Practice Description

Allison D. Byman's practice consists of representation of a Chapter 7 panel trustee, Chapter 11 trustees, creditors and debtors in the bankruptcy process, and related litigation. She regularly represents a Chapter 7 panel trustee in the administration of Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases, sale of estate assets, litigation of claim objections, and prosecution of avoidance actions. Ms. Byman also represents purchasers of assets out of bankruptcy cases, creditors in the defense of claims litigation and preference and fraudulent transfer actions, as well as the prosecution of dischargeability issues.

  • Assisted in the representation of public industrial services company in acquisition of assets and operations from Chapter 11 bankruptcy case

  • Represented a regional retail bank in lifting a bankruptcy stay to exercise state law remedies to obtain collateral from individual consumer debtors

  • Represented a Chapter 11 trustee and plan agent in large individual Chapter 11 case and obtained confirmation of plan of reorganization

  • Represented a Chapter 7 trustee in the sale of assets of a retail furniture debtor, wholesale plant nursery debtor, gas station debtor, special event location debtor, and medical services debtor

  • Represented a Chapter 7 trustee in the sale of beachfront property in Galveston, Texas
