Practice Description

Stephen S. Livingston focuses his practice on the representation of companies in environmental litigation, including mass tort actions involving claims of pollution or nuisance. He also defends manufacturers in products liability actions involving personal injury and defends companies in negligence actions for workplace injuries.

Representations

• Obtained summary judgment in nuisance action by 200 claimants against a chemical company (under appeal)

• Defended and settled wrongful death action arising from explosion at chemical plant

• Defended and settled a nuisance action asserted by 4,000 claimants against a chemical plant

• Defended and settled a class action suit brought by 800 nearby residents of a chemical plant for air and water pollution that included claims of environmental justice and discrimination

• Tried and won a jury case in federal court in a products liability action against a cement manufacturer
